Darling,
do you remember
     who you were?
Or has your heart
          frosted over-
     all despair and anger-
so far gone that your light
has all but
                    crumbled?

You were brilliant once, love.
Your radiance sang
like a Mayflower
     and your dreams
     blazed a wild beauty
     into your eyes.

Well, maybe it was my fault
for letting you believe
you would be the one
     to bring the world
     to its knees

But you would never stop
racing yourself to the sky-
     you danced with danger
and you were shining so brightly
          the stars could only blush.

But

One day you soared
     too close to the sun
and the world wasn't ready yet
          to take wing
and so they left you
               to burn.

Do you remember who you were?

Before the fire in your eyes
     consumed your heart
and you laid stones around you
so you wouldn't feel the light

I cannot bring you back, love
I can only tell your story
But if your heart
          still beats for the sun
Your wings
               can do nothing
                    but fly.
I'm back! :)
It's been almost half a year since I last wrote. Man, it feels good to have words in my heart again.
Everything feels so.. fresh.
I'm happy. :)

On the piece: I haven't seen a letter yet from the point of view of a character close to the villain (or at least, someone who made all the wrong choices) so I decided to make one.
Argh, it's so obvious I'm still rusty! But at least I'm trying. XD
